Langkawi's neighbour by ferry: white sand, clear water, walking-street seafood.
- Best time
- November to April for calm seas and the clearest water. Ferries from Langkawi run mainly in this season and cut back in the monsoon months.
- How long
- 3 days, 2 nights
- Getting there
- Fly from KL to Langkawi, about an hour, then take the ferry to Lipe, about 1.5 hours, in the main season. Otherwise go via Hat Yai to Pak Bara pier in Satun, then about 1.5 hours by speedboat.

A small island just across the sea border from Langkawi, on the edge of Thailand's Tarutao marine national park. White sand, clear water and good snorkelling are the draw, and the island is small enough to walk around.

Good to know
- Bring your passport. You clear Thai immigration on the island when you arrive from Langkawi.
- Boats drop you on the beach or at a floating jetty, so pack light.
- Lipe sits in a protected marine area. Don't touch the coral or take shells or stones.
