kampung laut mosque
One of Malaysia's oldest mosques, back in its home village, with serunding stalls next door.
- Best time
- March to October. Kelantan floods are most likely from about November to January. Mornings are cooler for walking around.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- Fly from KL to Kota Bharu (about an hour). The mosque is across the river from the city centre, about 15–20 minutes' drive. Older maps and signs may still point to Nilam Puri; head for Kampung Laut instead.

A timber mosque with a three-tiered roof, counted among the oldest mosques in Malaysia. Floods forced it inland to Nilam Puri decades ago; in 2022 it was rebuilt back in Kampung Laut, across the river from Kota Bharu, as the centrepiece of a heritage village.
