A relaxed old town on a wide river in southern Cambodia, with faded French-era shophouses and Bokor Mountain rising behind it. It's best known for Kampot pepper, grown on farms around the province. Most people come to slow down: sunset on the river, day trips to Bokor and Kep, and long, lazy makan sessions.

Good to know
- Bring a jacket if you're heading up Bokor. It's much cooler and often misty at the top.
- Scooters and tuk-tuks are the easiest way out to the pepper farms and salt fields.
