- Spring and autumn are best for walking the village. The Jeonju International Film Festival runs in spring, and summer is hot and humid.

- Fly from KL to Incheon, about 6.5 hours. The KTX from Seoul takes about 1.5–2 hours to Jeonju, or the express bus about 2.5–3 hours.

One of Korea's great food cities, named a UNESCO City of Gastronomy in 2012. Its hanok village of more than 700 traditional houses is one of the biggest in the country, and the city gives its name to Jeonju bibimbap.
