Dong Zen's temple gardens, Chinese New Year lanterns and village temples near the coast.
- Best time
- Any time of year. The lantern and flower festival runs over Chinese New Year, in January or February, and is best after dark when the lanterns are lit. Weekdays are calmer.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- About an hour's drive from KL via the SKVE or through Klang. It's about 15 minutes north of Banting, so it pairs easily with Jugra or Morib.

A largely Chinese farming town in Kuala Langat, best known for Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple, a large Buddhist temple set in landscaped gardens. Over Chinese New Year its lantern and flower festival draws huge crowds; the rest of the year it's a calm half-day, with the village temples nearby.

Good to know
- Over Chinese New Year, go on a weekday or arrive before dusk. Weekend traffic into the temple backs up for a long way.
- Dress modestly and keep your voice down in the shrine halls.
- The temple's vegetarian food is meat-free, but the village hawker stalls usually serve pork.
