- Fly with one stop, usually via Dubai, Istanbul or Frankfurt, about 15–17 hours all in. The S-Bahn from the airport takes about 25 minutes to the main station. Germany is 6 hours behind KL in summer and 7 in winter.

Hamburg is a port city built on water, with red-brick warehouses along canals, a working harbour on the Elbe and two lakes in the middle of town. Ferries are part of the public transport, and the museums are there for the North Sea weather.
