Granada has the Alhambra on one hill, the whitewashed Albaicín on the other and the snowy Sierra Nevada behind. It was the last Muslim kingdom in Spain, and you can still feel it in the tea houses and the carved palace walls.

Good to know

  • Book Alhambra tickets weeks ahead on the official site. The Nasrid Palaces entry time is strict, and you'll need the passport you booked with.
  • Halal is easy around Calderería Nueva and the lower Albaicín, where Moroccan restaurants serve tagines and shawarma.
