- Cool all year and often misty, with rain most afternoons. Weekends, school holidays and festive seasons are packed and the road up jams, so weekdays are much calmer.

- About an hour's drive from KL via the Karak Highway. Without a car, take a bus from KL to the Awana SkyWay cable car station and ride up.

A hill resort about 1,800 m up on Gunung Ulu Kali, built around Resorts World Genting. People come for the cool air, the indoor and outdoor theme parks, the casino and the cable car ride up through the clouds.

Good to know
- Bring a jacket. It's much cooler than KL, especially at night.
- The casino is for those 21 and over, and Malaysian Muslims aren't allowed in.
- On busy days the cable car is often faster than queuing on the road up.
