Fujairah is the only emirate whose whole coast faces the Gulf of Oman, with the Hajar Mountains rising behind it. It's quieter than the Dubai side, with old forts, a grand new mosque and good snorkelling.

Good to know

  • The beach resorts and snorkelling are around Al Aqah, so stay there if the sea is the point of the trip.
  • Food is halal as standard; alcohol is served only in hotels and licensed venues.
  • Fighting involving Iran closed Gulf airspace several times in 2026, cancelling flights at short notice, so a flexible ticket and insurance that covers disruption are worth having.

Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
