A small, easy-going university city on the southeast coast of Negros, built around Silliman University and a breezy seaside boulevard. It's walkable and well placed for day trips: Apo Island's reefs, the dolphins off Bais, the lakes and waterfalls in the hills, and the ferry to Siquijor.

Good to know

  • Apo Island is a protected sanctuary with visitor fees and rules. Don't touch or chase the turtles, and use reef-safe sunscreen.
  • Tricycles are the usual way to get around town.

Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
