The Crocker Range is the mountain spine that separates Sabah's west coast from the interior, averaging around 1,800 metres. Much of it is protected as Crocker Range Park, part of a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and the winding roads from KK into the interior climb through cool, misty forest.

Good to know
- The road is narrow and twisting, with fog by afternoon. Drive slowly and keep your lights on.
- Treks inside Crocker Range Park need permits and, for longer routes, a guide. Arrange them through Sabah Parks.
