coloane
A sleepy waterfront village, warm egg tarts and wooded trails towards Hac Sa Beach.
- Best time
- October–March suits village and hill walks. July–September is hot and stormy; spring can be humid and misty along the coast.
- How long
- Half a day to 1 day
- Getting there
- Fly direct from KL to Macau (about 4 hours). Coloane Village is about 20 minutes from the airport by taxi, and buses run from the peninsula and Taipa.

The quietest corner of Macau: a small waterfront village facing mainland China, with wooded hills and two beaches behind it. This is also where Macau's egg tart story began, at a bakery that opened here in 1989.

Good to know
- The village and Hac Sa Beach are a few kilometres apart, with buses between them.
- Halal food is scarce in Coloane, so plan to eat in Cotai or on the peninsula.
