Bukit Tabur is the hikers' name for part of the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge, a white quartz ridge over 14 km long on the edge of KL. The hike is a short, steep scramble along a narrow ridge, with the Klang Gates reservoir on one side and the city skyline on the other.

Good to know
- You need a permit from the Selangor Forestry Department, applied for online in advance, and the trail has been closed at times. Check before you go.
- The quartz is slippery when wet and there are sheer drops. Don't go after rain or alone, and wear shoes with good grip.
- Gloves help on the rope sections.
Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
