boracay in 4 days, 3 nights

A long travel day and a White Beach sunset on arrival, D'Talipapa seafood and a paraw sail, a boat day round the island and Puka Shell Beach, and a last swim before the trip home.

  1. Day 1

    To the island

    Morning
Fly from KL to Manila, about 4 hours, or to Cebu, then take a short domestic flight to Caticlan. The Philippines is on the same time as Malaysia.
    Afternoon
From Caticlan it's a few minutes to the jetty and about 15 minutes by boat to the island. Have your hotel booking ready, as it may be checked before you board.
    Evening
Watch the sunset from White Beach, then dinner along the beach path and a mango shake.
  2. Day 2

White Beach and a sunset sail

    Morning
Swim at White Beach while the water is calm. Station 2 is the busy middle, so walk towards either end for more space.
    Lunch
Buy seafood at D'Talipapa, the wet market, and have one of the restaurants next door cook it for you.
    Afternoon
Walk across the island to Bulabog Beach on the windy east side to watch the kitesurfers, from about November to April.
    Evening
A sunset sail off White Beach on a paraw, a traditional outrigger sailboat.
  3. Day 3

    Island hopping

    Morning
An island-hopping boat tour to Crystal Cove, Crocodile Island and snorkelling spots around Boracay.
    Lunch
Lunch on the tour or back on White Beach.
    Afternoon
Head up to Puka Shell Beach on the north tip, quieter and named after the small shells that wash up there.
    Evening
Sunset on White Beach, then dinner.
  4. Day 4

    Home

    Morning
A last swim and one more mango shake.
    Lunch
An early lunch, then the boat back to Caticlan.
    Afternoon
Fly to Manila or Cebu and connect home.

Good to know

  • Smoking and drinking are not allowed on the beach itself, and the rules are enforced.
  • Halal food is limited, so seafood is the easier option for Muslim travellers.
  • Kalibo airport has more flights than Caticlan, but it's about 1.5–2 hours by road to the jetty, so you'll arrive later on Day 1.
