A Pahang town just over the Titiwangsa range from KL, known across the country for its ginger. It makes an easy day out: old-town food, durian in season and cool river water at Chamang and Janda Baik.

Good to know
- Only swim where it's marked safe at Chamang. The currents are strong, especially after rain.
- Leave KL early on weekends to beat the traffic on the Karak Expressway.
