A quiet beach at Labuan's northern tip, near the folded rocks and sea stacks of Tanjung Kubong.

- Any time of year, in the afternoon so you can stay for sunset. February and March are usually driest; October is the wettest month. Go at low tide for the rock platforms at Tanjung Kubong.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- Direct flights from KL to Labuan take about 2.5 hours. The beach is about 20 minutes' drive north of Labuan town, so drive or take a Grab.

Batu Manikar is the beach at Labuan's northern end, a long stretch of sand backed by trees, about 20 minutes from town. Round the headland at Tanjung Kubong, the island's national geopark shows off folded rock layers, sea stacks and oil seeping out of the shore, so you can make an afternoon of it.

Good to know
- Big waves can come in without warning, and people fishing have been swept off the rocks here. Stay off the wet rocks, and only swim when the sea is flat.
- Bring a hat and water for the Tanjung Kubong trail; there's little shade.
