ba na hills
Cable car up to a French-village theme park and the giant-hands Golden Bridge.
- Best time
- February to May for the clearest views. Mist often rolls in, especially in the rainy season from September to December, when bad weather can also stop the cable car. Weekends and Vietnamese holidays are very busy.
- How long
- A full day
- Getting there
- Fly KL to Da Nang (about 2.5 hours). The cable car station is about 40 minutes' drive from the city, or about 1.5 hours from Hoi An, and tours and shuttles run from both.

A hill station about 1,500 metres up in the Truong Son mountains west of Da Nang, first built by the French as a cool retreat. Today it's a big theme park, Sun World Ba Na Hills, reached by a long cable car. Most people come for the Golden Bridge, the mock French village and the cooler air.
Things to do

- The cable carA long ride up the mountain over the jungle, part of the fun in itself.Map ↗

- Fantasy ParkAn indoor games and rides area, handy if it rains.Map ↗
Good to know
- Bring a jacket. It's much cooler at the top than in Da Nang, and often damp.
- Go early to beat the cable car queues and reach the bridge before the crowds.
- Halal food inside the park is very limited, so plan to eat before or after your visit.
