A beach picnic, a kite in the sea breeze and ikan bakar at the beachfront stalls.
- Best time
- Any time of year. Come in the late afternoon for the breeze and the sunset over the Straits of Malacca, then stay for dinner. Weekends and school holidays get busy.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- About an hour's drive from KL via the MEX or the ELITE towards KLIA, then through Sungai Pelek. It's about 30 minutes from KLIA.

Sepang's beach, about half an hour from KLIA, is where families from the south of the Klang Valley go when the plan is simply to get everyone out of the house. It's not a swimming beach, but it's breezy and long, with kites, picnics and ikan bakar stalls that stay busy into the night.

Things to do
- A beach picnicBring a mat and some shade and claim a spot on the upper beach.Map ↗
- Kite flyingThe sea breeze makes it a good kite beach, like Morib up the coast.Map ↗
- SunsetThe coast faces west, so the sun goes down over the sea.Map ↗
- CampingThere's a free campsite on the sand in front of the food court. Bring your own tent.Map ↗
Good to know
- The water is shallow and murky, and the tide goes out a long way. Don't follow it out across the soft mud.
- Pair it with a race or a kart session at Sepang, or a pau run to Tanjung Sepat up the coast.
