Fly from KL to Kuching (about 1 hour 45 minutes), then drive about 1–1.5 hours south via Jalan Puncak Borneo. There's no bus: drive, hire a taxi for the day or join a tour from Kuching.

One of the best-known Bidayuh longhouses, in the Padawan hills about an hour south of Kuching. Families still live along its long shared verandas, and visitors can walk through, see the baruk (the round headhouse) and stay the night with a family. A riverside hot spring is a short drive away.
