Any time of year. Weekdays outside the school holidays mean shorter queues. Lightning shuts the slides until a storm passes, and afternoon storms are most frequent in October and November.

Getting there
About 1.5 hours' drive from KL on the North–South Expressway; leave at Simpang Ampat and follow the A'Famosa signs. It's about 40 minutes north of Melaka city.

The water park at the A'Famosa resort, outside Alor Gajah, is an easy family day from KL: a wave pool, a lazy river, slides up to seven storeys high and shallow splash areas for small children, with Safari Wonderland next door. It's nowhere near the old A Famosa gate in Melaka city.
