Places to visit in Peru

Peru is a long way to go, and most trips are built around Machu Picchu, the Inca terraces on a ridge above the Urubamba valley. You get there from Cusco, where it's worth spending a couple of days first among Inca stone lanes and Andean markets, and Lima adds ceviche and clifftop walks on the way. From KL it's one stop to Lima, usually via Amsterdam, then a short flight to Cusco, about 30 to 35 hours all in.
