Myanmar is temples and tea shops: Yangon for the gold Shwedagon and old downtown streets, Bagan for brick pagodas across a wide plain, Inle Lake for stilt villages and floating gardens, and Mandalay for royal-city history. Much of the country is under travel advisories because of the conflict, so each guide says plainly where things stand, and the Rakhine and Kayin State places are off for now. Yangon is about 2 hours 45 minutes direct from KL.
