Places to visit in Morocco

Morocco is medinas and desert: Marrakesh for souks and the food stalls of Jemaa el-Fnaa, Fez for a maze of lanes and workshops still making leather, and Chefchaouen for blue-painted streets in the Rif Mountains. Head to Merzouga for a night in the Erg Chebbi dunes, or out to Essaouira on the coast for fishing boats and grilled fish. From KL it's one stop, usually via Istanbul or Doha.
