Jordan's big three are Petra, for rock-cut tombs reached through a narrow sandstone gorge, Wadi Rum, for red sand and a night under the stars with Bedouin hosts, and the Dead Sea, for floating in salt water. Amman has Roman ruins above busy markets and syrupy kunafa, and Aqaba finishes things off with Red Sea reefs. From KL it's one stop to Amman, usually via Dubai, Doha or Istanbul.
