Places to visit in Brunei

Brunei makes an easy long weekend: Bandar Seri Begawan for gold-domed mosques and a night market made for grazing, with water taxis across to Kampong Ayer's stilt villages. Ulu Temburong National Park is longboat rides, rainforest boardwalks and a canopy tower, and Tutong is good for pulut panggang breakfasts. It's about two hours 20 minutes direct from KL, or fly to Miri and cross by road.
