Places to visit in New Zealand

New Zealand's South Island is the big draw: Queenstown and Wanaka for lakes and mountain walks, Milford Sound for boat trips under sheer fiord walls, and Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park and Lake Tekapo for glacier lakes and starry skies. Up north, Rotorua has geysers and Māori culture. Malaysia Airlines flies direct from KL to Auckland in about 11 hours, and Queenstown is about two hours further by air.
