- April–May for flowers and fresh green, and October–November when the reeds turn gold. July–August is hot and rainy; in winter, hooded cranes come to the bay.
- How long
- 1–2 days
- Getting there

A slower stop on Korea's south coast, where reed beds and tidal flats spread out into Suncheon Bay. Nearby, a walled village of thatched houses is still lived in.

Good to know
- Yeosu and the tea fields of Boseong are both about an hour or less away, so Suncheon pairs well with them.
- Seafood and vegetable dishes are the easiest pork-free choices; 'gogi ppae-juseyo' asks for no meat.
