paris
Seine walks, art museums and neighbourhood bakeries between familiar landmarks.
- Best time
- April–June and September–October are mild for long walks. July–August is hot and busy, and some local shops close in August; November–February is cold and grey, but good for museums.
- How long
- 4–5 days
- Getting there
- About 13.5 hours direct from KL on Malaysia Airlines' overnight flight. The RER B train gets you into the centre in about 40 minutes. France is 6 hours behind KL in summer and 7 in winter.

Paris rewards slow days: a neighbourhood at a time, a walk along the Seine and a bakery stop between museums. The big sights are as good as you've heard, and so are the side streets.

Good to know
- Halal food is everywhere, especially at North African and Turkish places; Belleville and Barbès have the most.
- Pickpockets work the metro and the big sights, so keep your phone and wallet zipped away.
