- About 3.5–4 hours' drive from KL on the East Coast Expressway, then about 15 minutes from Chukai. Or fly from KL to Kuantan (about 45 minutes) and drive about 1 hour 15 minutes.

A council-run zoo and recreation park at Bukit Takal, just outside Chukai, and one of the busiest family outings on the east coast. It has about 380 animals, and three white Bengal tiger cubs born here in March 2026 went on show in July.

Good to know
- Arrive at opening time. Weekends (Friday and Saturday in Terengganu) and school holidays have been packed since the tiger cubs arrived.
- Pack swimwear and a change of clothes if the kids will want the pool.
