Art museums, old railway streets and red-rock foothills on the edge of the Rockies.
- Best time
- May–June and September–October are good for walking and foothill trips, with golden aspens in the mountains in late September. Summer is warm with afternoon thunderstorms; winter brings cold snaps, snow and ski season in the mountains.
- How long
- 2–3 days
- Getting there
- Fly with one stop via Tokyo, where United flies to Denver, about 20–23 hours all in. The A Line train reaches Union Station from the airport in about 40 minutes. Denver is 14 hours behind KL, 15 from November to early March. Malaysians need a US B1/B2 visitor visa, usually with an interview at the embassy in KL; ESTA isn't open to Malaysian passports.

Denver is a mile-high city with the Rockies lined up along its western horizon. Its museums and old railway quarter make an easy couple of days before heading into the mountains.

Good to know
- Denver sits about 1,600 metres up; drink plenty of water and take the first day easy after the long flight.
- Halal is mostly at Middle Eastern and South Asian places outside downtown, especially east towards Aurora.
