A hill city about 1,500 metres up in the Cordillera mountains, set up by the Americans as a hill station. Known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines for its cool air and pine trees, it's a bit like the Philippines' Cameron Highlands. People come for strawberries, flowers, thrift shopping and a break from the lowland heat.

Good to know

  • Bring a jacket. Nights can get cold, especially from December to February.
  • Weekends and holidays bring heavy traffic up from Manila. Go midweek if you can.

Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
