Places to visit in Bhutan

Bhutan is a slow trip through mountain valleys: Paro for the walk up to Tiger's Nest, Thimphu for markets, textile workshops and a giant seated Buddha, and Punakha for its riverside dzong and long suspension bridge. Jakar adds Bumthang's old temples and a high farming valley. There's no regular direct flight from KL, so it's usually one stop via Bangkok on Drukair, with occasional direct charters sold mostly with tour packages.
